When I was 21, I received a card in the mail with a beautiful, yet subtle drawing of a sexy, cartoon woman with the words, “You’re Invited to Hef’s Midsummer Night’s Dream Party. Dress: Sleepwear Required.” That year’s theme was Arabian Nights, so I slipped on a teal blue lingerie costume that I actually handcrafted myself from fabrics, ribbons and rhinestones I picked up from the craft store.
Attending that party that year sparked my passion for lingerie and the women empowerment that comes along with it, and I ended up attending the same Midsummer Night’s dream party every year after that. I looked forward to the party all year because of the happy, carefree energy in the air and all of the beautiful lingerie looks that so many women looked so confident in. There was only one rule: no personal cameras were allowed. It was a celebrity-filled event with Hollywood’s hottest actors, actresses, models and industry elite. The decorations looked enchanting, the food was always spectacular, and the drinks never stopped flowing.
Ever since those infamous parties, I’ve had a special place in my heart for Playboy and the sexy confidence that the Playboy women convey. Naturally, when Yandy and Playboy decided to collaborate on a Midsummer Night’s Dream collection, it brought me so many memories of my days at the mansion!
The Yandy Play Me Risque pink velvet lace-up is a really cute bodysuit that I wore from the collection, and it is definitely something that you could wear to the Midsummer Night’s Dream party! My personal favorite touch is the Playboy bunny charm on it: the perfect detail to make it feel like a classic, Playboy Midsummer Night’s Dream piece.
