I did have carbs while I was in New York, and I definitely was not Gluten-Free while I was there, but I came back to LA, only a pound heavier, probably because I walked a lot while I was there!
One of my favorite brunch places I went to during this trip was a restaurant called Mercer Kitchen in Soho. It was super chic, a little bit on the pricier side, which I don’t mind if the food is delicious, and it was! They had a pre-fix menu which I always love because I also seem to struggle deciding what to eat, so I usually get the same thing every time! Almost everywhere I go, I have to have some type of seafood, you guys know I am a huge pescatarian, lol. I just love seafood/fish so much, but my preference over everything is fresh organic veggies and fruits and I die for a good shake or smoothie!
I started off with the Salmon Tartar! I had salmon tartar twice the week I was in NYC! Most of the time in LA, you see mostly Tuna Tartar, but in NYC they have Salmon Tartar, which I loved!
My friend got the goat cheese, brussel sprouts and mushroom pizza for his appetizer!
Then for our entrees I ordered the Seabass with mashed potatoes.
My friend Ben got the steak with onion rings! Both of the presentations were so beautiful! And the food was amazing!
And to top it all off, the apple tart was to die for! I loved every bite of it and finished it all! Definitely a huge cheat day for me but we walked around SoHo and Greenwhich so much I do feel that I worked it off! I totally recommend Mercer Kitchen when you visit or live in NYC, I give it a thumbs up in presentation, food, service, and somewhat of a healthy and clean brunch!
